Welcome to Chester Sub Aqua Club

We are affiliated to the British Sub Aqua Club (BSAC) and undertake a comprehensive BSAC training schedule in SCUBA diving. The club has a good number of qualified instructors, who help develop members skills through the various BSAC training programs, from Ocean Diver through to Advanced Diver and cover an extensive range of Skill Development Courses.

We try to get into the sea most weekends throughout the year – when the tides and winds allow! When this isn’t possible there are a good selection of sheltered water quarries which can be dived in almost any state of weather.

We also organise several UK dive trips per year. From the Isles of Scilly in the South to Shetland in the North – if it’s dive-able, we’ve been there and are planning to go back! And of course, we also head for the warm (and cold) international waters across the globe.

So no matter what type of diving you’re looking for, we’re bound to be doing it! If you want to give Scuba Diving a go or get back into it, please contact us – It would be great to hear from you.

Book a Try Dive

If you have always wanted to learn to dive or are simply curious about scuba diving, then a Try Dive with Chester Sub Aqua Club is the perfect introduction!

In the safe confines of the pool, a BSAC Instructor will introduce you to the basic skills and equipment needed to experience the thrill of breathing underwater for the very first time. A try dive costs £25.

A typical Try Dive session lasts about 90 minutes. It involves poolside tuition on diving techniques and equipment, followed by a scuba dive in our pool with a BSAC-qualified instructor.

What our members say...

I joined Chester Sub Aqua club a few years ago as a PADI diver who only dived on holiday. I heard that there was a BSAC club in Chester, so I popped in for a look without knowing much about the club or BSAC. I was looking for was a way to do more training and to go diving in the UK, when I joined the club was not only an outlet to train but a community I could be part of. The club had a really welcoming, friendly & inclusive atmosphere, there were plenty of opportunities to progress and club nights were also fun and social. For me Chester SAC is a not only a club but also a community and something that all club members can be part of and help to develop.

I joined Chester SAC some years ago because it has great facilities, but more importantly than that it is a fully inclusive club. I have been involved in arranging many dive trips for the club, particularly for couples to include the non diving partners. There have been a series of "Dive & Dine" trips to the West Coast of Scotland diving in Loch Fyne and out of Crinnan, based around stay's at castles, luxury marina's, very old Inn's etc. These have been very nice diving and social events. Since Diving with the club, I have been able to dive all around the UK and abroad including Shetland, Orkney, Cornwall, Wales etc and abroad in Egypt, Portugal and later this year, Croatia.
